One goal of the study is to measure cost of this
nutrition strategy.
The average American spends $15/day on food.
Calculations suggest this study will cost less than $15
per day. Cost will be calculated by the number of pizza
slices recorded on the Calendar Worksheet
submitted at study end in a self-addressed stamped
envelope.
The study will provide 12 jars of PrescriptFitâ„¢ shakes,
soups and puddings: Vanilla, Chocolate Lactose Free,
Chicken Soup, and Beef Soup. Mixing instructions
are included and available visually on the Home Page
www.doctorpizza.com
by clicking Mixing Instructions. Additional seasoning
and flavors enhance variety and prevent boredom.
The PrescriptFitâ„¢ Symptom Score Sheet will be
provided along with Dr. Owen’s book, The Amino
Solution. Volunteers are asked to fill out a
Symptom Score Sheet at study beginning and end and
to mail with Calendar Worksheet and Nutrition
Survey after study completion (4 forms total).
Multivitamins will also be provided with study materials
for compliance with requirements of one (1) vitamin
tablet per day.
This package normally costing $448 dollars will be
provided at $360 for this study or about $8/day. Pizza
cost is estimated at $3-6/day. Volunteers are urged to
use daily Domino’s specials to maximize savings.
Predicted cost savings compared to the average American
diet should range between $45 and $180 for the 6 week
study period.
Those who return the completed print Calendar
Worksheet, Nutrition Survey, and Symptom
Score Sheet at the end of the study will be given
vouchers for two Domino’s pizza or two
jars of PrescriptFitâ„¢ products. A self addressed stamped
envelope will be provided. A total of 4 pizza
vouchers may be earned by completing the Calendar
Worksheet every 2 weeks and emailing subtotals
then mailing the completed Calendar Worksheet,
Symptom Score Sheet (2), and Nutrition Survey study
in the self-addressed stamped envelope.
